We would love for you to join our church family.
Acts 2:41 says to become a member of a New Testament church like EBC you must be saved by receiving Christ as Savior, and baptized by immersion as a public profession of faith in Christ.
If you have already been saved and baptized in a church of like-faith and practice, and would like to join EBC, please let Pastor Randall know during the invitation at the close of the service.
The Bible teaches in Acts 2:41-47 and Matthew 28:19-20 that a Local, visable New Testament Church is made up of people set apart from the World on a common profession of Faith in Christ, which is then testified of publicly through obedience to the ordinance of believers baptism, and who are assembled together for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission of reaching the lost World with the Gospel of Christ, baptizing the converts, and discipling them to reach others also. The Local Church is called in Ephesians 1:22-23 / Colossians 1:18,24 Christ's body.
This body is made of of various parts, with all parts working together in unity for the glory of God. Because our enemy the Devil desires to cause division with the Local Church to thwart the work of God, it is wise to have Biblical standards in place for Church workers.
To insure that we all are of "one mind" in serving the Lord we require all who desire to work in any area of this Local Church ministry to agree to our "Church Workers Covenant", which Scripturally outlines their Biblical responsibilities.
Also in the endevor to literally follow the command of Matthew 10:16, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." we also require that all workers involved with ministry to children, or who drive Church vehicles to pass a confidential back-ground check administered by Elmwood Baptist Church to insure everyones safety and protection.
